it's monomer is tetrafluoroethylene.
And Teflon is also called polytetrafluoroethylene.

Teflon is polytetrafluroethane ..

It is specially a plastic(thermosetting) which is used for coating to make non-stick cookwares since water and oil don't stick on the plastic..
