Tense is the form of verb that shows the time of action or a state of being.
there are four forms of tenses.
1)simple indefinite
2)continuous
3)perfect
4)perfect continuous
1) present tense:-
it expresses what goes on at the present moment,but it's exact time is not defined.
2)past tense:-
it is used to denote an action done in past .
3) future tense:-
it is used to denote an action that can be done in future time.

Explanation:
Verbs are used in English grammar in a manner which indicates or denotes the time when an event occurred. These verbs which take different forms to indicate the time of an action, occurrence, or condition by changing its shape are called tenses.
There are 3 types of tenses :
1. Past tense- refers to action taking place in the past
2. Present tense- Refers to action taking place in the present time
3. Future tense- refers to action taking place in future.
Under each type of tenses there are four sub-tenses as follows:
1. Past tense-
• Simple past tense- an event that had taken place in the past
• Past continuous tense- Describes an event or occurring that is continuing in the past
• Past perfect tense-Describes an event in the past that has already been completed.
• Past perfect continuous tense- used to indicate an event, action that started before any other event
2. Present tense-
• Simple present tense- actions taking place in the present time
• Present continuous tense- describes an event happening in the present and has not completed.
• Present perfect tense- describes an event begun in the past, continues in the present and would be completed in future.
• Present perfect continuous tense- Occurrence of an event that had begun in the past and still continues in the present.
3. Future tense -
• Simple future tense- event happening in the future course of time
• Future continuous tense-Actions that are ongoing in the future.
• Future perfect tense- Describes an action that will be completed in near future before another event takes place
• Future perfect continuous tense- describes an action continuing in the future and will be completed in near future.
