when a body is suspended with a a string then the body pulls it towards downwards but it doesn't fall for the string pulls the body upward. The force applied by the string is tentional force

Tension

▪︎ The force which is applied by a string or a spring ,when a weight mg is acted upon it.

▪︎ The direction of tension will be opposite to the force applied by the weight.

▪︎ F = kx , where k is spring constant and x is displacement.
