DURING THE ZYGOTENE STAGE OF PROPHASE ONE OF MEIOSIS,THE HOMOLOGOUS CHROMOSOMES START PAIRING TOGETHER BY A PROCESS CALLED SYNAPSIS TO FORM A COMPLEX STRUCTURE CALLED SYNAPTONEMAL COMPLEX.TWO SYNAPTONEMAL COMPLEXES FURTHER FORM A COMPLEX CALLED BIVALENT OR TETRAD.
