10% energy transfer law in the food chain is put forth by Lindeman. A pyramid of energy depicts the energy flow form one trophic level to another trophic level in the food chain. According to 10 percent law, 90% of the energy captured from the previous trophic level is lost as heat to the environment and only 10 percent is made available to the next trophic level. Energy flow is from environmental sunlight to producers, producers to primary consumers, primary consumers to secondary consumers and so on.

according to 10% law only 10% energy of previous level is taken by another trophic level example the plant take 10% energy of the Sun let it be 1000J and plant is eaten by a rabbit so there for 100 joule is taken by rabbit similarly rabbit is eaten by a lion so the energy transferred is 10 जूल similarly it's go on and go on up to five trophic level after that very less energy is consumed by अदर एनिमल so it stopped up to five trophic level. hope it will help you
