If sum of the interior angles a and b is less than 180° , the two straight lines ,produced in definitely, meet on the side . In geometry , the parallel postulate ,also called Euclid's Fifth postulate.

Euclid's 5th postulate :
If a straight line falling on two straight lines makes the interior angles on the same side of it takes together less than two right angles then the two straight lines, if produced indefinitely, meet on that side on which the sum of angles is less than two right angles.
Equivalent version of Euclid's 5th postulate :
Two distinct intersecting lines can't be parallel to the same line.
