displacement S=40m
initial velocity u=20m/s
final velocity v=40m/s
let acceleration =a m/s²
using Newton law of motion, v²-u²=2aS
(40)²-(20)²=2a x 40
1600-400=80a
80a=1200
a=1200/80
a=15m/s²
