what is the action of heat on copper sulphate crystals?

Copper sulfate is normally found in the form of blue crystals, copper (II) sulfate pentahydrate. When you heat copper sulfate pentahydrate it turns white as the water which is driven off by the heat.

Copper sulphate contains water for crystallisation. When heated water vaporises and blue copper sulphate turns white. When dissolved in water it regains water molecules and again turns blue.
