Reaction of calcium with water:-
Calcium is a high reactive metal .It reacts with water to form Calcium hydroxide and hydrogen.It is more reactive than hydrogen that's why ,it displaces hydrogen.the process is exothermic(heat realeasing).the reaction will be as follows:-
Ca + 2H2O => Ca(OH)2 + H2
Calcium starts floating on water :-
when calcium reacts with water it starts floating because it is a high reactive metal and readily reacts with water .when it reacts it forms bubbles so it float on water.
