What is the actual difference between a stationary object and an object at rest?

An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion. However, this is missing an important element related to forces. We could expand it by stating: An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion at a constant speed and direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
