- The advantage of block is that other team is restricted to score points by preventing a successful attack.
- It is performed by one or two players jumping up and pressing the ball over the net.
Blocking faults:
- When a player jump up the net to tackle the ball but fails to tackle it, it is considered as a blocking fault.
- When blocking happens half hand and the ball fails to bound and land off, it is called as tool and is considered as a blocking fault.
- Wrong positioning by the player.
- If the player touches the net while blocking, it is an error.
- If the player's foot crosses the center line while jumping or landing, it is also considered as an error.
- When players in the back row blocks the ball, it is a blocking fault.
