What is the advantage of difference in diameter of effernt arteriole and afternt arteriole

In the nephrons, in the kidney... we observe that the diameter of afferent arteriole is greater than the diameter of the efferent arteriole.

The reason for this is that the afferent arteriole brings the blood to the kidney and the efferent arteriole carries blood away from the glomerulus. Because it has a smaller diameter than the afferent arteriole, it creates some resistance to blood flow, producing the back-up of blood in the glomerulus which creates higher pressure in the glomerular cavity.
