percolating capacity of water increases
air enters the soil easily making better choices for plant respiration
so plant grows well. this is why farmers plough before sowing seeds and they are adviced to do it ..in terms of farming it also helps in levelling of soil so water flows equally not percolating at some low leveled places and the same for pesticides and fertilizers
