What is the advantage og MIDI format over WAV format

MIDI Files Advantages:

1) MIDI files are much more compact than digital audio files.

2) MIDI files embedded in web pages load and play more quickly than their digital equivalent.

3) MIDI data is completely editable. A particular instrument can be removed from the song and/or a particular instrument can be changed by another just by selecting it.

4) MIDI files may sound better than digital audio files if the MIDI sound source you are using his of high quality.

                WAV FILE ADVANTAGS:

1) Use WAV for recording and editing.

2) Use your audio editor's native file format with references to the WAV files to keep disk space under control

3) use MP3 for distribution. 44.1 and 160kbps is lots, unless your audience has a home stereo that is worth more than their car and ears to match.
