The relation between number of images formed and the angle of inclination between two plane mirrors is defined by the expression :-

$\maltese \: n = \frac{360}{a} - 1$

In this expression :-

• n = Number of Images
• A = angle between mirrors.

If the mirrors are parallel to each other then the number of images formed will be Infinite.

Now we have been given that the number of images formed is 7 but we don't know angle of inclination between mirrors.

Now after inputting the known values we get :-

$7 = \frac{360}{a} - 1$

$7 = \frac{360 - a}{a}$

$7a = 360 - a$

$8a = 360$

$a = \frac{360}{8}$

$a = \huge\cancel \frac{360}{8}$

$a = 45$

Therefore the angles are inclined at an angle of

45° with each other.
