3 \frac{1}{x}  \times 3 \frac{3}{4}  = 12 \frac{1}{2}

 \frac{3x + 1}{x}  \times  \frac{15}{4}  =  \frac{25}{2}

 \frac{3x + 1}{x}  = \frac{25}{2}  \times  \frac{4}{15}

 \frac{3x + 1}{x}  =  \frac{10}{3}

 {9x + 3}  = 10x

x = 3
