Answer:

1.)A globe is the only accurate way to study the whole Earth. A globe is more accurate than a flat map because it mimics the true shape of the Earth and is able to accurately portray continent shapes and distance between landmasses.

2.)A map is a symbolic depiction emphasizing relationships between elements of some space, such as objects, regions, or themes. Many maps are static, fixed to paper or some other durable medium, while others are dynamic or interactive.

Maps contain lots of information. Most maps will have the five following things: a Title, a Legend, a Grid, a Compass Rose to indicate direction, and a Scale.

  • The Title tells you what is being represented on the map (i.e. Austin, Tx).
  • The legend (also know as the key) explains the symbols used on the map for various features like mountains or rivers and other major landmarks.
  • a grid made up of longitude and latitude lines to precisely locate specific locations.
  • the compass rose indicating the cardinal directions of North, South, East, and West as it relates to the map.
  • the scale compares the distances on the map to actual distances (i.e. 1 inch = 10 miles). Knowing about these 5 things will help you better understand information when using maps.

3.)map drawn from observation rather than from exact measurements and representing the main features of an area. A sketch is a drawing mainly based on memory and not on scale.

4.)plans help business identify its goals. Preparing for the future allows business leaders to consider the impact they would like the company to have and to find a way to get there. When a team works together to set goals, it allows everyone to be on the same page, working toward a common, shared purpose.

5.)Maps represent the real world on a much smaller scale. They help you travel from one location to another. They help you organize information.A street map will show you roads, their names, and various locations along those roads.

6.)already mentioned above!!

7.)The three scale classifications for maps are the word scale, the linear scale, and the ratio scale.

8.)Conventional symbols are widely accepted signs or sign systems which signify an idea or concept. They represent different features on a map and are not drawn to scale. They are important because: Symbols can be used to depict features like cities, roads and railways.
