Hey There!

Here, Al_2(SO_4)_3 undergoes dissociation in solution, as follows:  Al_2(SO_4)_3 \rightarrow 2 Al^{3+}+3SO_4^{2-}

So, from one molecule of Al_2(SO_4)_3, 5 individual molecules are formed from dissociation. 
So, n=5
Also, \alpha=50\% =0.5

Now, van't Hoff factor is given as:

i=1+\alpha(n-1) \\ \\ \implies i=1+(0.5)(5-1)=1+2 \\ \\ \implies \boxed{i=3}
