i) In the first tube the reaction has taken place.

ii) Since iron(II) is more electropositive than copper, it can displace copper from its salt (CuSo4).

Fe + CuSo4-----------> FeSo4 +Cu


But copper is less electropositive than magnesium, it can't displace magnesium from its salt (MgCl2). Thus no reaction takes place.

iii) Single-Displacement reaction.
