Answer:

Step-by-step explanation: Let The amount of the prizes be x , y ,z respectively where x>y>z i.e x-first prize, y-second prize, z-third prize.

y=5/6*x         -(1)

z=4/5*y           -(2)

x+y+z=150      -(3)

Substituting equation-(1) in equation (3)

x + 5x/6 + z = 150

Substituting equation-(2) in equation (3)

x + 5x/6 + (4/5*y) = 150

As  y=5/6*x         -(1)

x + 5x/6 + (4/5*5x/6) = 150    -(4)

Simplifying

x + 5x/6 + (20x/30) = 150

(30x + 25x + 20x)/30  = 150        - ( By taking the LCM)

75x/30=150

75x=31,500

x=60

From equation (1)

y=5/6*x

y=5/6*60

y=50

From equation 2

z=4/5*y

z=4/5*50

z= 40

Hence the values of x,y,z are 60 , 50, 40 respectively
