1) it's main function refers to the arm of government responsible for carrying out or administering laws enacted by the legislature. The term is also used in relation to Ministers from the governing party who make policy decisions and are responsible for the administration of government.

2)Article 356 state that the president can invoke president rule in a state on the report of the governor if the state machinery/legislature fails to abide by constitutional norms.

3)Two important functions of the Vice-President are as below:

1. He acts as ex-officio Chairman of Rajya Sabha and performs the duty same as the Speaker of Lok Sabha i.e. to conduct the business of the House and maintain the decorum.
