x² + 4x + 9 = 0

(x + 2)(x + 2) = 0

x + 2 = 0
x = -2

So, x = -2

Hey there!

x {}^{2} + 4x + 9 = 0

Solve using quadratic equation

x = \frac{ - b + - \sqrt{b {}^{2} - 4ac} }{2a}

x = \frac{ - 4 + - \sqrt{4 {}^{2} - 4 \times 1 \times 9} }{2 \times 1}

x = \frac{ - 4 + - \sqrt{ - 20} }{2}

The square root of a negative number doesn't exist in the set of real numbers.

Hope it helps!
