Given :-

Pressure = 500 Pa

Force = 100 N

To find :-

Area = ?

Solution :-

As we know,

pressure \:  =  \dfrac{force}{area}

Here we have to find area. So, the formula to find area :-

area \:  =  \dfrac{force}{pressure}

Put the given values :-

 =  \dfrac{100}{500}

 =  \dfrac{1}{5}

 = 0.2 \:  {m}^{2}

Additional Information

➣ Pressure is the force acting normally on unit surface area.

It is a scalar quantity.

Its SI unit is Nm^{-2} or pascal (Pa).

Formula to find pressure :-

Pressure= \dfrac{Thrust}{Area}

or

Pressure= h.\rho.g

➣ Force is a push or pull which changes the motion of an object.

Its SI unit is N.

It is a vector quantity.

Formula to find Force :-

Force = Pressure \times Area
