What is the area of a sector with radius 6" and measure of arc equal to 120°?

arc of the sector = 120°

TO FIND :- Area of the sector

SOLUTION :-

ar(sector) =  \frac{ \theta}{360} \times \pi {r}^{2}   \\  \\  =  \frac{120}{360}  \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 6 \times 6 \\  \\  =  \frac{1}{3}  \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 36 \\  \\  =  \frac{22 \times 12}{7}  \\  \\  =  \frac{264}{7}  \\  \\  =  \boxed{37.71cmsq}

The area of the sector is 37.71cmsq. [Approx]
