<u> Your Question - </u>

What is the area of a triangle whose sides are 26, 28 and 30?

<u>Solution </u>

Since it is now specified what is the unit of measurement, we take it to be m.

Then,

First side, a = 26 m
Second side, b = 28 m
Third side, c = 30 m

So, the perimeter of the triangle
= sum of all sides
= (a+b+c)
= 26 + 28 + 30
= 84 m

Then, semi perimeter (s) of the triangle
= Perimeter/2
= 84/2
= 42 m

Now, be Heron's formula, area of the triangle,

= √{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

\bold{= \sqrt{42(42 - 26)(42 - 28)(42 - 30) }}

\bold{= \sqrt{42 \times 16 \times 14 \times 12}}

\bold{= \sqrt{112896}}

\bold{ = 112896 ^{ \frac{1}{2} }}

\bold{ = 336}

= 336 m².

Hence, the area of the triangle = 336 m².
