^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

there is a square of side 8 cm
so for that the area would be
 side^{2}
so,
8 X 8
64  cm^{2} -------------------------1

now the lower length of figure is 12
by subtracting the length of square we will get
12- 8=4 cm

now area of triangle at the right is
1/2 X base X height
1/2 X 8 X 4
8 X 2
16  cm^{2} -------------2

now adding 1 and 2 we get

64 + 16
80  cm^{2}

Area of the figure is =area of square +area of right triangle Area of square is =a square. Thus area of square is equal to 64 and for area of right triangle we have to know the base of triangle 12-8=5 is the base of triangle then according to the phythagoras theorem we have let altitude be X then, X Square + square base= hypotenuse square =64+25=Square of hypotenuse. =clearly area of triangle =9,43 thus.area of square +area of right triangle 64+9,43=73,4
