as we know that when we inscribe a square in a circle then the length of the diameter of circle will be equal to the length of the each diagonal of that square.

therefore,

diameter (x ) = length of the diagonal of square

then,

Area of square = ( diagonal )^2 / 2

Area of square = x^2/ 2
