each diagonal of the largest square

= diameter of the circle

= 12 x 2

= 24

let side of square be a

now

root(2) a = 24

a = 24 / root(2)

area of the largest square

= a^2

= {24 / root(2) }^2

= 576/2

= 288

Astrid1: 24 i.e the diamete of the circle is the diagonal of the sq ..each side of sq is (12)^1/2 ...so area is sq of that i.e 12
