Step by step:

AC = 8 cm ( radius of big circle)

AB = 3 cm

Thus, BC = 8 - 3 = 5 cm ( radius of small circle)

We know, Area of circle = π r × r

Therefore, Area of small circle = 5 cm × 5 cm × 22/7

= 25 × 22/7

= 550/7 sq. cm

Area of big circle = 8 × 8 × 22/7

= 64 × 22/7

= 1408/7 sq. cm

Therefore, Area of shaded part = area of big circle - area of small circle.

so, 1408 - 550/7

= 858/7

Answer:

= 121.57 sq. cm (approx.)
