What is the atomic number of CH3 and H5C2.Explain the procedure to find their atomic number?

see...there is 1 carbon atom whose atomic number is 6 and 3 hydrogen atoms whose atomic number will be 3*1=3.....so atomic number of molecule ch3 will be =6+3=9,
same as H5C2,it has 5 hydrogen atoms,and 2 carbon atoms so atomic number of H5C2=5+12=17,,,
