Isotopes are form of element which have same atomic number(Z) but different mass number because they have different number of Neutrons(A).

The 2 Isotopes of Nitrogen are Nitrogen-14 N^{14}__7 and Nitrogen-15 N^{15}__7.

Atomic Number = Number of Protons

Since, Atomic numbers of isotopes are same, Atomic number = 7 for both the isotopes.

However, the  Mass number of 2 differ.

  • Mass Number = Number of (Protons + Electrons)
  • The Mass number of Nitrogen-14 is 14

and Mass Number of Nitrogen-15 is 15.
