The atomicity of argon and carbon dioxide is 1 and 3 respectively.
- Atomicity is defined as several atoms in a molecule or compound.
- For example- the atomicity of oxygen molecule is 2 because 02 contains 2 oxygen atoms. similarly, the atomicity of HCI is 2, atomicity of HNO3 is 5.
- Similarly, the atomicity of glucose is 24 because the sum of 6 carbon+12 hydrogen+ 6 oxygen is equal to 24.
- Ar is a single atom so its atomicity is 1 whereas the atomicity of carbon dioxide is 3 as it contains 1 carbon and 2 oxygen atoms.
