Atomocity refers to the no. of total atoms in a particular element
In NO₂
there is 1 nitrogen atom and 2 oxygen so the atomicity is 2+1 = 3
Similarly in F₂ it is 2 (2 atoms of flourine)
and in HCl it is 2 (one of hydrogen and one of chlorine)
