I came to NYC in 1998 I was 17 I entered the US with just a passport in my hand because somehow the baggage that I had and that I had checked in when I boarded the flight from Ivory Coast didn't make it. I stood there at the luggage rack watching these huge bags going by and mine didn't come. And this bag had all my possessions at that point which were two pants and two shirts one long sleeve and one short so I just started laughing and I didn't even bother go to the lost baggage section to claim it I just walked right out to meet my new mother who was standing there with a beaming smile waiting for me we left and went into Manhattan.
