let total distance be 2x
so it covers x distance in time = x/40
now it covers 2x/3 distance in time = 2x/150
remaining distance = 1/2-1/3 = 1/6 = x/3
it will cover x/3 distance in time = x/180
average speed = total distance / total time
putting values we got, average speed = 45.5

how the assumed total distance is 2x here?
if u want to assume it as x you can assume but there will be complications in making it half and one third so i assume it as 2x
