         Spanish served as the medium of instruction for Gregorio Zaide's primary and secondary school when Filipino was the nation's primary tongue. In 1926, he was the valedictorian of Santa Cruz, Laguna's Laguna High School, currently known as the Pedro Guevara Memorial National High School. He graduated with a Master of Arts in 1931 from the University of the Philippines in Manila, a Bachelor of Arts in 1934 from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1934.

Career:

       After leaving his job on May 25, 1964, he entered politics and was elected mayor of Pagsanjan from 1971 and 1975. He composed Pagsanjan, In History and Legend while holding his position, which was published in 1975 and has portions that can be found on the town's official website.
