Thigmonasty. Thigmonasty or seismonasty is the nastic response of a plant or fungus to touch or vibration. Thigmonasty is especially prevalent in the mimosa genus. Thigmonasty differs from thigmotropism in that it is independent of the direction of the stimulus.
