Electron hain Enthalpy is the property of isolated atom . It represent heat evolved or absorbed when an isolated gaseous atom gains electron and formanion . The ability of an atom in a covalently bonded molecule to attract shared pair of electrons towards itself is known as electronegativity.

Explanation:

Electron gain enthalpy is the tendency of an isolated gaseous atom to accept an extra electron to form a gaseous anion while electronegativity is the tendency of an atom of an element to attract the shared pair of electrons towards itself in a covalent bond. Unlike electron gain enthalpy, electronegativity is not a measurable quantity.
