Karyotaxonomy is branch of systematics that studies the structure of cell nucleus in the various group of organisms in order to determine the extent of their phylogenetic kinship and to use the result to construct the natural system of a given group of organisms.
Classification in Karyotaxonomy is based upon the number and the structure of chromosomes.
