Social differences in a society create disparities and inequalities as well as a social separation between people.

The basis for these differences are numerous but can be categorized as follows:

• Based on a person’s Birth:

1. A person born in a particular society pertaining to a certain ethnic type or financial status can cause social differences

2. There are also physical attributes such as birth defects which may cause social ostracism

• Based on a person’s Choices:

1. A person may choose a certain lifestyle such as adopting or denouncing the religion that a person is born in.

2. Physical changes effected such as tattoos or body piercings are also factors that tend to push societies to discriminate.
