What is the beenefit of distillation over evaporation as the process of separating mixture?

because when a liquid mixture evaporates all components evaporate with different compositions “light component is more” and when this vapor reaches the stage above, it is cooled by the reflux stream which condenses mainly the heavier components and so on.
