• 59% live in the Flemish region and speaks Dutch language
• But in capital city brussels , 80% people speak French while 20% are Dutch speaking
• The minority french speaking community was realtively rich and powerful
• Dutch got benefit of education must later and was poor
• In 1950-60 a tension between the two communities was acute in Belgium

• Most of the Sinhala speaking people are Buddhist, while most of the Tamils are Hindu and Muslim
• There are about 7per cent Christians , who are both Tamil and sinhalas
• Sinhala community enjoyed an even bigger majority and could impose it's will on the entire country
