First off,

Brahmins and cows were treated like sacred in this society. Brahmins have following characteristics.
They cannot eat meat, they cannot drink or smoke.
They cannot even see other women in their celibacy, not other women after their marriage.
Spend their life to learn and pass it to next gen.
They cannot be violent. Either they should become scholars or learn Veda. They have to teach others for free. If they don't interested towards education, they should do farming.
They do freezing cold water bathing at morning 4.00am and go for waking up god in temples. They are like messengers who send the prayers of common people to God.
They have to be generous and kind. They cannot use abuse language. They cannot be selfish. They have to follow this and teach it to society. They cannot kill animals.

Similarly cows.
Cows eat grass. They give milk. Their waste can be used to generate biogas. Their urine has many usages. They don't hurt anyone. They do not cause pollution.

That's why Indian people showed gratitude towards Brahmins and Cows. Kings made Brahmins rich. Gave seat in the court. People respected brahmins because they teach , not for money. They make people nearer to god. So society respected. People treated cows like pets. Fed them with devotion. Real worship is this. This is love.

It is the greatness of the Indian society for the position, not the greatness of Brahmin.

Varna system definitely is classification, but not in order.

Brahmin class has following characteristics :
Brahmins had to survive only because of their intelligence.
A brahmin cannot be rich because he doesn't to business, cannot be physically harsh because he does eat fruits and herbals.

What Brahmins did:
Calculated the distance between sun and earth without telescope.
Performed many rituals and purified the environment. (refer : )
Protected Indian knowledge in their mouths.
Wrote many books. Invented many things. Sacrificed having wealthy life and became sages roaming in forests to find the truth.

refer most of the contribution is given by Brahmins.

Now the point.

Did Brahmins misuse their value? YES. Some for power, some for money. Many because the help seeking person is illiterate in particular aspect. But not all. There are activists too.
Telugu Music saint created awareness in public that everyone should get entry in temples.
: Fought for education and independence of women. He arranged first widow remarriage ever in India on December 11, 1881. He wrote many books and contributed to Telugu literature.
: One of great social activists. He created awareness in society through his literature. His famous literature Kanya Sulkam gained popularity in here. Woman dowry was the main theme of it
We are proud of what we've contributed to society. Being a Brahmin is a responsibility.

Given a position, even a government official may misuse it. It's the fault of individual, not constitution. Don't generalize it to forefathers. In that case, In this 21st century , where people measure success by money earned, where people are respected by their influence, living fashionable corporate life style , even just holding personal relationships which are useful for present like spouse and kids and leaving parents at old age homes, slaughtering animals for food, polluting environment for easy and comfort luxuries, concentrating more on machine learning rather than moral values,
I hope if there would be a generation with humanity and gratitude will feel ashamed by looking at their forefathers.

I sincerely say, if you find a Brahmin (hopefully cows wont get polluted) with above mentioned qualities, respect him. He deserves it. Don't worry, I bet you would rarely find one.
Hope this will be helpful to you..Plz mark it as brainliest
