Want to be a district collector… well, still you can take any subject and get through it. But what matters is you need to be a jack of all subjects to become a district collector. You can't say I have not studied this ever while attempting the question paper. You need to be aware of what not! Everything… literally everything. Start reading a lot of books and create interest for every subject.

Don't wonder if you want to take humanities or sciences… take any thing which you like now and then develop an interest for the one not selected too.

You don't need to be a master of all, but being one will surely help.
