answer is here.

It is impossible to ever forget someone in life. No matter how hard you try, unless you are a machine and you are able to delete files out of your memory, this someone will forever be engrained into your memory. And to add that this person gave you so much to remember makes it even more impossible. Even if this person was someone negative and ruined your life, you will still remember that person as such. Every person you come across will help shape the person that you are. For example, do you remember your first grade teacher and at least one thing about their class. Now, can you remember the first person that made fun of you at school when you were younger? For me, those moments were over 34 years ago, yet I remember my first grade teachers name and that she had short hair, wore glasses, and was married to another teacher at my school. I also remember the first kid that called me a shrimp because I was really short when I was a kid. These people that I mentioned are just a speck of what other people have contributed in my memories growing up. Now imagine someone that you had shared a special relationship with for months or years.

My point is You can’t forget someone no matter how hard you try. You may try to suppress that memory because of trauma but even then, those memories will come back even in your subconscious or in dreams. Sure, the more time that passes by, the less you will think of them. Soon they will even become a distant memory that will only come up if reminded. Just like my examples. I haven’t thought about those people in forever…. But I still remember little mundane details. So, I’m not sure In what context this question is being asked but if I’m assuming correctly, you are trying to forget an ex with whom you shared a lot of memories with. I’m sorry to tell you, you can’t. Even if you start a new relationship, you’ll remember. Because if you don’t then you’ll never learn from your past and you will make the same mistakes that broke you apart to begin with.
