Go for the sentence that sounds good to you. Tips? Well, we'll be referencing from this example:
They were killed by me.
* Find out what is the object and subject of that sentence, eg. in the above stated example, you can easily figure out that the doer of the sentence is "me", i.e., I, and the object on which the action is being taken is " they ".
*Swap the object and the subject, I were killed by them (change the pronouns accordingly, if any) {This sounds absurd I know, this isn't complete}
* Determine the tense of the verb, here it's simple past of " be" + past participle. Remove the "be" form. Now, it's : I killed by them (still preposterous)
* Remove "by", if any. Here it goes now: I killed them. Sounds alright, you're done, kudos!
