answer➡➡➡ total number of fluorine is 9, so a F2 molecule has a total of 18 electron ( excluding the 4 1s electron). The (F2)- ion has one more valance electron....
To find the bond order, add the 15 electrons in the molecular orbitals one at a time until you use them up.......They completely fill all the orbitals except the highest energy antibonding sigma 2p orbital..... Thus there will be 8 bonding electrons and 7 antibonding electron, leaving a net ofonly one bonding electron...the bond order = (net bonding electrons)/2 = 0.5
