⭕️There are 14 electrons in N2 molecule.

so..................

(σ1s)2 (σ*1s)2 (σ2s)2 (σ*2s)2 (π2px 2 = π2py 2)(σ2p z )2

Is the electronic configuration...

⭕ bond order is = (Nb-Na) / 2 = (10-4) / 2 = 3

⭕️ In N2+, there is one electron less in bonding orbital as compared to electrons in N2nso, there will be 1 electron less in the σ2p z orbital.

⭕️ the electronic configuration is .........

(σ1s)2 (σ*1s)2 (σ2s)2 (σ*2s)2 (π2px 2 = π2py 2)(σ2p z )1

⭕ The bond order in N2+ ion will be :-

= (9-4) / 2 = 2.5

vardhana47: nice
NidhraNair: thank you ☺

Dear Student,

Molecular orbital configuration of

 N2+= σ1s2  σ*1s2 σ2s2  σ*2s2

{π2px2π2py2σ2pz1

Bond order=No. of bonding electrons−no. of

 antibody electrons /2

10-5/2= 2.5.

thanks me Later ❤️
