Ventricular Escape and Artificial Pacemaker:

 In this cardiac disorder atrial impulse fails to be transmitted to ventricles.

 Such patients are provided with an artificial pacemaker which regularly sends electrical impulses and maintains the rhythmicity of heart.

 It is implanted subcutaneously (below skin) in the upper thoracic region and is connected to ventricles.

 It consists of dry lithium cell which produces electrical impulses and transmits to heart through a lead wire.
