Ventricular Escape and Artificial Pacemaker:
In this cardiac disorder atrial impulse fails to be transmitted to ventricles.
Such patients are provided with an artificial pacemaker which regularly sends electrical impulses and maintains the rhythmicity of heart.
It is implanted subcutaneously (below skin) in the upper thoracic region and is connected to ventricles.
It consists of dry lithium cell which produces electrical impulses and transmits to heart through a lead wire.
