What is the cause of blackness of black soil in southern india?

black soil has a high dyeof basalt. it is rich in iron and magnesium minerals. this makes it colour black

Mainly black soil is found in deccan plateau in India it contains mainly of iron magnesium amd nickle particles and the are made up of molten rock lava and rich in minerals that's why it is black in colour and know as regur soil......hope its help......cheers potterhead
